Part of the constellation of renowned vineyards surrounding Chambertin, the plot of Charmes-Chambertin used for this wine is located within the Mazoyères-Chambertin climat, near the edge of Latricières-Chambertin. The 60-year-old vines, planted on a 0.40-hectare plot (approximately 1 acre), occupy a prime section of the vineyard. The soil, composed of fine gravel on the surface mixed with clay over firm limestone, contributes to the wine's power and persistence.

This Charmes-Chambertin exhibits striking aromatic intensity, with notes of violet, liquorice, vanilla, quince, and red fruit. The tannins are dense yet exceptionally refined, while the palate impresses with its persistent length and elegant texture. A savory, invigorating finish enhances the flavor.

With an aging potential of 10 to 20 years, this wine can also be enjoyed in its youth, within the first five years, when decanted an hour before serving. Winemaking involves 50% whole-bunch fermentation, and the wine is aged for approximately 18 months in barrels, with 30% new oak.

Ideal food pairings include seven-hour lamb, Rossini tournedos, Chinese-style glazed pork with wok-fried vegetables, duck confit with Sarladaise potatoes, or Epoisses cheese.
